The CallCenter is an application that allows the personel in the Newspaper Call Center to to enter ads in the advertising system. It should help script the call as well, and so must be very customizable. Such an app should understand the upsell or packaged sell api and provide not only a data entry screen, but also a script for selling. Operators should be able to call up accounts, and ads to check status alter orders etc. Also, it should be able to field/markup the plaintext for items like make/model/year, milage, etc. Not just for autos, but for jobs and realestate. The jobs category is probably the most difficult. Normally, a web app, might be OK, but the need for quick rendering of ads, coordination of multiple screens, etc might call for a vb app. Probably tabbed panes for customer, ad, script, etc. The customer screen would have a search, save, etc. It differs from the normal AdTaker software also, in that it is very unlikely that the callcenter will have any artwork handy for the ad, but they could put pre-paid replaceable photos, that the end user could log in and change. The app would probably be java or vb and have multipaned interface for viewing the ad. * The command pane has things like start new ad, login, load ad, load advertiser, though these might just be menu options with dialogues. * The script pane is an interactive script that works like an expert system. It asks questions, records answers, and poses more questions until the order is complete. * The preview pane shows what the ad looks like based upon the information immediately available. * The data pane shows the ad in the traditional form based manner allowing answers to be edited.
